Teaching Philosophy

*Space now available for online oboe lessons, via Zoom!*

The oboe is a beautiful and rewarding instrument to play, and my goal is to facilitate the technical challenges in order for students to find their own musical voice.

In addition to technical and musical skills on the instrument, I also work to build students' confidence, focus, and dedication. I believe that the best learning occurs in a positive environment, where taking risks is encouraged and setting goals is the best motivation. I use my background in both performance and academia to create an individualized approach for each student.
